new bodom song

I actually love Are You Dead Yet? and HCDR.

+1

The drums are totally buried, the vocals sound too distorted for my taste and somebody used waaaaaaay to much saturation on those guitars... me no likey. Oh and the leads clip.

EDIT: and that trailer! Skateboards in a COB video! FAIL!

Your band should actually become COB. You guys excel at their style of music, especially compared to them (from what I heard in the song you sent us to mix a while ago).

ROFL! Thanks for the words dude!

I've listened to it a handful of times and this leads me to believe it's blooddrunk part 2

Wow man ... WTF happened to them.... thats such a SHIT guitar tone :(

AND SLOPPY AS FUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whaaaaat. If anything, I always thought the guitar playing in Bodom had some style, not fucking mechanical like everything else out there. I think the tone has some nice crunch, but it's just horribly mixed. Way too loud.

All I can say is, this band should have had the dignity to have bowed out of the game while they were on top of things.
Just another band on that list of bands that still think they're special and continue to put out music well after their use by date.
What I heard right there was about as good as Death Magnetic, ughh.

You took the words right out my mouth dude!
I was just about the post the same exact reference with how the Death Magnetic album turned to shit with produced by Rick Rubin, until I read your last post

I don't understand why they are so many metal bands that have been around for years; with tons of success, and once they hit their high point, they slowly start to show lack of effort compared to previous albums, because they think anything they write and produce is gold. It seems like its more about the money, than the music now a days.. :bah:

To be fair, whether you guys like the new stuff or not, it really wouldn't make sense for them to "have the dignity to bow out of the game" when they're finally touring the world and actually making some money out of it after playing in their parents' basements for years. I mean, how many of you would, in the hypothetical situation where you played in a majorly succesfull metal band, just say "hey, we really suck cock these days, I'm going back to working at McDonald's drive-in"? Exactly

On topic, didn't really dig the new song. The drum mix is strange as fuck. I love AYDY though, that's some absolutely killer production.

Man these guys suck. I loved the shit out of FTR but everything since then has just been flat out smegma. Alexi needs to stop drinking with celebrities and fucking practice.

To go slightly off topic, it's starting to look like every Scandinavian band that is awesome and ends up completely abandoning what makes them cool in favour to appealing to retarded American teenagers has an awesome alternative that stays awesome and steps out of the shadow of the more successful band.

So here, that alternative is Wintersun. You can observe the same thing with In Flames releasing shit for however many albums its been since Clayman and Dark Tranquillity continuing to be awesome. Also Soilwork being terrible and Scar Symmetry being awesome, though I'm not sure if that applies since the latest Scar Symmetry gargles my balls.

Damn, just realized that Wintersun had an update on their website! Looks like we might get the record by 2014.

News update
Hi everyone! It´s been a while.

I´ve been working very hard with the synths&orchestrations and I can finally say that I´m feeling very positive about finishing this long and gruesome task by christmas. So hopefully around the end of December I can finally start mixing the album. I still have a few vocal parts unfinished, but I will be singing them meanwhile I´m mixing.

The only problem about the mixing is that my current computer gear simply cannot handle these insanely huge projects. And the other problem is that I have no money for new gear. So we have discussed about this problem with our label&management and they have agreed to help us with an advance to buy new and more powerful computer gear, but only if we agree to play a few shows and show people that Wintersun is still alive. So after carefully weighting all the different possibilies, we think we need to play these shows to help the completion of the album.

The shows will be for now:

Metalfest (3 shows)
Metalcamp (1 show)

There´s lot of work and preparation to do for these shows, ´cause we have to update our live gear as well, sort out technical difficulties and of course rehearse the songs. This will most likely affect negatively with the mixing schedule, so I can´t give any predictions with that yet. I also need to try out the new computer gear first and see how it handles these projects. The software is still not 64-bit, so the "infamous 4GB RAM limit" might also be a problem with the mixing, since these projects already eat about 3GB without any plugins. But I will do my best to overcome this challenge the fastest way I can.

And no worries, these shows will definitely not be cancelled. So we are looking forward to you guys, see you at the gigs! Who knows, we might even play a one new riff... I mean a song! ;)

Imo the song in the first post doesn't sound all that bad, except for the terrible mix. But still I gotta say that this stuff cant even touch the older albums.

Awesome albums up to FTR, HCDR wasnt that strong. But I LOVE Are you dead yet?...blooddrunk was kind of a letdown..only 2 songs that I liked
The mix in the OP is cruel, are you sure its a final thing?
everything burried by them geetars
cant even tell much about the song because I dont hear much lol
