Im not really digging it. it sounds a lil better then the new reign and isnt like breakdowns every five seconds. but the guitar tone is so thin and the whole record it self doesent sound heavy at all. kinnda strang that zuess did this album and didnt mix it. then it probley would of sounded a shit ton better.

I think they should have tried out that new AMG mode in the kontact player :)

the writing is definitely better, and I think its sounds pretty damn huge, but yes the guitar tone could use some work

LOLOLOL Don't get me and especially Dodo started on what we think of this album. But I can summarise it quickly if you want.

shit doesn't begin to describe this album
i want to know what the fuck is up with sumerian records
i swear they must put a clause in their contracts that says YOUR SECOND ALBUM MUST BE REALLY REALLY FUCKING BAD AND STRAIGHT FACED AS FUCK
i like these bands on sumerian because they take deathcore and play it so light heartedly that its infectious as fuck
the new reign has become my number one album for recovering from weed induced paranoia after a david lynch session, and for good fucking reason
they went the same way as the faceless though, amazing, tongue in cheek, light hearted debut, and the second album is HEY GUISE LOOK AT US WE ARE SO INSECURE WITH THE SIZES OF OUR COCKS THAT WE MUST PROVE WE CAN PLAY TEH REAL SERIOUS TECHNICALZ MUSICZ

i am just waiting for veil of mayas second album, because that's obviously going to be a huge pool of vomitus too.

even the production sucks worse than the new reign on this
i see what ermz means about producers forcing their own sound upon bands. this doesnt sound like born of osiris to me, this sounds like thousands of other shitty bands that ive already heard.
for better or worse, their debut stood out from the crowd of boring production, whatever way you want to fucking spin it.

and all the cheesed out electronica parts, and the hip-hop beats
WHAT THE FUCK WERE THEY THINKING?!?!
this album is so bad it induced depression
seriously
what the fuck
this album is fucking terrible
case fucking closed.
topic over.
i win and born of osiris does not
fuck.

no amount of good production would save this from being one of the worst metal releases of the year so far

So you're saying this is worse than their debut?

Cos that was a steaming pile of boring turd too.

have to disagree with you there buddy, i do actually quite like the debut, this one not soo much

There wasnt a memorable track on the debut and the production was like all Sumerian bands, terrible.

yeh man agreed on the shitty production, however i think most of songs are really catchy as far as heavy shit goes

My first thought when hearing the CD was "Man, Zuess really dropped the ball on this one." Glad I found out he didn't mix it... that explains everything. Why would you go to record with him and not have him mix it!?

The only thing that really stood out to me on this CD was the intro and how it was an interesting take on the piano part from the end of New Reign.

I just listened to the samples on itunes, and from what I heard, and from what you guys are saying about it, I will not be buying it. I did actually like The New Reign. I wouldn't say it's amazing, but I do enjoy listening to it from time to time. The production was pretty bad, but at least it hits harder than the new stuff.

i love the production on the new reign
but i think michael keene gets away with that sound somehow
and it definately works for BoO
and as for the music on the new reign, it's fun
nothing really memorable, but definately good to chill to.
abstract art's breakdown always puts a smile on my face too
the koto's pretty cool

and as for the intro track, i dont see how thats one of the positives on the album
its seriously one of the most painfully awful pieces of musak i've ever subjected myself to.

The guitar tone IS miserable, oy.

Man you were right...... the debut album was actually interesting to listen but not this one . What a bad day, i listented to this crap and the ARKAEA album and both were a huge deception :/

The guitars sound like they were fucking brickwalled to death with too much high mids. The only "odd" guitar tone like this that has ever done anything for me is Oceana's first album, "The Tide". The guitars are not similar to most in the genre and are interesting and big in the mix.
