I was really disappointed when I heard this new CD.

I didn't particularly care for the production on the first album at first, but at least it had this memorable character to it. The songs were also a lot better imo.
I didn't even bother paying attention to the production of the new one. I just didn't like the songs. Boring and uninspiring. The first album had some nice energy.

Yes, the guitars are very heavy on the harsh mids and highs and could use less, but the whole album sounds huge, and the writing is still interesting and progressive.

Whats wrong with wanting to be very technical?? Their old album was still very technical too.

I'm the total opposite of the general consensus of this thread too. I thought the first album was boring (BROring?) as fuck and think the new album is great and has some really well written parts. Production is okay but I thought I was picking out programmed drums here and there.
