Lost In Necropolis
Robot Vocals GALORE.

Gotta say though, after listening to it a few times at work today and a now, I'm really digging this album. Doesn't match up to Focus, thats for sure, but a good album none the less.

Might slip into my top 10.

i like the robot vocals! guess i should check this new one out. next they should remix the rest of focus, those couple they did as bonus tracks sounds great.

Heh, yeah.

Personally I think this album is going to get a lot of shit from the people looking for the more Death/Thrash aspects of the proggy sound of Cynic. There isn't much of that in this release. If I HAD to label it, I'd go with straight up progressive.

yeh, im not a huge fan anyway. i really like How Could I, and the rest are pretty good. i'll get around to it once Gojira comes off constant rotation.

this feels like a really hot girlfriend that left you ten years ago, coming back and feverishly sucking your penis until it falls off.

I really have no words now, it's been on repeat for 5-6 hours.

To me it feels more like a hot girlfriend who came back to you 10 years later, but had been plowed a bit in that time into looseness.

Don't get me wrong, I'm having tons of fun listening, but it may take some time to grow on me to Focus status.

That said, it may grow more on me.

seriously

Eric, this is perfect because it's a band that reunited and didn't take into consideration what's going on today in metal, or what's hip. They are not making an attempt to fit into 2008.

but they do, because this is the same dudes that brought us focus, who got together to jam again and made music they were feeling with 15 years of life behind them.

this is real, this is cynic, this is awesome.

focus is better than 99.96 percent of metal ever created. This is those guys hanging out again and making the kinds of music they want to make.

I wouldn't call this perfect but, like I said, it's a damn good album. But 10-15 years down the line, are we going to be talking about it like it is some sort of tiny disc shaped god as we do about Focus? Only time will tell that.

I can only hope Atheist's upcoming album will be as refreshing as this.

since the dudes from atheist played in differnt projects all these years, I think their new one will be more modern and similar to tech death being done today, whereas Cynic preserved the atmosphere they've had all along.

will it be as groundbreaking and epic as focus....absolutely not, but it will be a more enjoyable listen in the long run than the new atheist.
