So, not a headliner this year, but there's always IX and X and into the future! I took a trip out to the rekkid store today and came back with LOTF 2 (and Annihilator's Metal). I'm about halfway through LOTF 2 and so far it is definitely some slammin' power metal with all the building blocks you'd expect out of one of the genre's most authoritative groups. Looking forward to rocking out to this repeatedly for the rest of the week. Definitely thumbs up so far. You?

tell you what - I'll give it another spin tomorrow on the way to work. This was one of the cds I ordered for myself for Christmas. And although I made it about halfway through one day, nothing really kicked me in the head. I'll give it another shot - if I can stop putting the new Pagan's Mind and the new Helloween and the new A Lower Deep cds in my cd player.

LOTF 2 is pretty good iMHO, I am glad they stopped trying to sound like Judas Priest. Even though I like JP.

I agree. Majestic is definitely a stronger sounding album. I mean - where's the guitars on this new one?
I dig it. Its more consistent from beginning to end than the last 2 albums. However, there is prolly only one true great song on it - Insurrection. But again, this album does not have the peaks and valleys of the last 2 albums so it makes it a rockin' listen from start to finish.
