I'm not much into DVD and I'm not a big fan of Gary Moore solo career, but this one it's a must be (TSO take note!)

The core band of Moore, Jethro Tull bass player Jonathan Noyce, and Thin Lizzy's one and only drummer, Brian Downey, were joined by the stellar guitar talents of Brian Robertson, Scott Gorham, and Eric Bell for a set of Lizzy and Gary Moore classics.

Far Out! This is definitely going on my wishlist! :hotjump:

I've been curious about the new Thin Lizzy. I heard either Gorham or Robertson learned to sing like Phil so they could continue with the band. This should be a great taste of that!

Wyv? You don't like Gary Moore's solo material? Like Victims of the Future and Run for Cover??? Man, those are godly to me!

Oh no. I love 'Victims Of The Future' but I don't like his blues period which is the most. In general terms I don't like blues.

As for Robertson is he the new TL encarnation? I though it was Sykes/Gorham with Sykes on vocals. Besides without at least Downey (like in the DVD hence my excitement) I don't consider much Thin Lizzy tribute at all.

You're right, Wyv. It was John Sykes that learned to sing like Phil. My memory is degrading from all the drugs and booze I guess. he he. Plus, I'm not very familiar with the newest incarnation of TL. Didn't even know they were back together until that scottish girl (princess somethingorother) briefly showed up on the boards a few months back.

I like Moore's blues stuff too, but I'm not in a blues mood very often. I frequently pull out his rock albums though. Like I said, those are godly!

Well when the first "reunion" took place it was Sykes, Gorham, Downey, Wharton and some guy on bass. Later Downey step down and for me that was wnough to say thanks but no thanks. I actually have a live compilation of the Sykes/Gorham/Mendoza/Aldridge line-up and even if is a good tribute is a tribute lizzy not a thin lizzy.

But this DVD not only looks good it comes form the heart because Gary loved the thin man big time. After TL broke up Phil colaborated with Gary and I'm sure that if Phil wouldn't have died he will probably called Gary (or John) back to reform the band (it was planned but Lynnot dead shatter the dream).

I got it now, Wyv. Thanks. The missing piece on this dvd is Sykes. It would have come full-circle that way. All the key living members getting together.

If I don't get this dvd myself, I have a close friend in Idaho who will have it primed for me when I get there in June (he has a big video setup). All I have to do is tell him it's out there and he'll snag it immediately.

Damn I didn't noticed before neither Sykes nor Warthon are present, kind of dissapointing as a tribute. I guess Moore will handle the vocals.

Anyway I'm going for it come hell or high water.

I was over in Dublin visting my dad and we went to the gig both of us being HUGE lizzy fans. It was brilliant cant wait to see the DVD.
