OK guys,

I've been working on this track for awhile now, and while its sounding good so far, im still not 100% happy with it. I wanted that big "black album" sound, which im sort of near at the moment(who am i kidding im not bob rock), but my problem is because there are a few thrash riffs here and there, the fast picking doesnt really come through that clear. Its just alot of fizz.

I've double tracked the guitars and used a colin richardson EQ setting. I also had a c4 on them, but that seemed to give me more fizz and less clarity so I got rid of that. Was my tone too distorted to begin with or can I still salvage some chug from it?

Oh, and please excuse the sloppy playing

Anyways would love to hear what you all think.

Man those clean guitars at the start sound fantastic!

What type of EQ are you using? Graphic or Parametric? Ive found I have better results with a graphic, namely SSL EQ bit of 5kish/8ish, when ive used Colin's settings on something like Waves Q10 ive got a fuzzyness. The guitars do sound quite fuzzy but the potential is there, what you got on your guitar channel atm?

Drums sound very nice btw, Slate black kit?

Thanks dude i'll try using some graphic EQ and see how it goes.
The only thing I have on my guitars atm is some eq.
The heavy guitars were run through line 6 gearbox with a 5150 based model.
Drums are slate metal dream kit. The black kit is just a little too harsh for my liking.
