New IRON MAIDEN video stream ITT

This song is fantastic! Finally, Bruce is bringing the personal level into Iron Maiden, which is what makes his solo work so great. Not to mention, this is probably their first "good" video. The visuals are sweet.

EDIT: Seriously mang, their best song in what seems like ages.

:kickass:

also: i'm happy to hear that kevin shirley DIDN'T fuck up the production. from what i can tell from this low bitrate audio stream, this sounds a metric fuckton better than both previous shirley albums.

That's because Steve Harris chose not to master it and clean everything up. Excellent decision.

Hhmmm...

Strange choice of single. It's rather repetitive, though it has some decent ideas in it.

Maiden are the most important band in the world to me, so I really hope this new album delivers. I suspected from the start that this album would all sound very much like this track does - I'm hoping not, but I reckon - given the tracklengths - that it will be quite a rambling, grandiose style album a-la Dance of Death's longer tracks.

They have to keep exploring though. It's a cool video, with some nice nostalgic shots thrown in. Unfortunately, these tend to act as a reminder that Maiden have long since left behind those energetic Number of the Beast era moments.

But who knows, I am still hopeful - the band have said good things about it (naturally), so I'm holding my breath.

Aren't these recordings just the rough mixes though?
Not rough mixes, final mixes but unmastered. It's really a strange decision. Good mastering only improves the sound. Now whether Kevin Shirley is a qualified mastering engineer is a very different thing.

I'm in sound engineering college

I thought it rocked! :kickass:

It's has a has a modern and heavy sound for Maiden, too. If the rest of the album is as good as this I will be satisfied.

Wow.

This is the best song I've heard since hearing the album Number of the Beast.

Fucking wow.

I don't know what to think after the first listen. I really haven't been exciting by any Maiden output since Seventh Son.

I think the thing is they tried to make everything after that the best damn thing ever, overthought it... This is just a damn good tune. I liked it on first listen, it just goes you know...
