the new Kataklysm album is streaming on myspace right now and it fucking owns!!!!
looks like a good summer for metal!!! summer slaughter tour anyone???

Good one. Better than previous soundwise. IMHO.

They are still a bit on the cheese-side of death metal. The singer has gotten better tone wise, but still sucks at lyrics.

i think all death metal has a cheese factor to it. if its too serious its not really fun and actually kinda gay. none of the bands really kills people or is that dark and mysterious. if they are, they are emos lol. to each his own tho...


perfect example is six feet under. in the death community you are judged for liking this band, but they are awesome imo.

I like Bolt Thrower for lyrics (and for music). They just sings about wars...
Katalkysm lyric if very funny in its simplicity

bolt thrower is another classic band. they were the first death metal band i heard back in the day. all bands have been compared to them in my mind

my opinion is: the album is ok but not good. there are too many breakdowns and i miss the "in-your-face" attitude. although i'm a big fan of them, i think that the records they made after serenity in fire are too much into this popular death metal thing...
despite their studiowork they always own live on stage!!!

To me the album sounds very bland and faceless - it sounds just like any other DM band, which kills the album for me. What happened to originality?
