I found the drumming to be pretty impressive. Not quite as inventive or imaginative as Mikkey Dee's, but still pretty intricate

I thought the guitar leads were some of the best since Conspiracy. Not really as much from an emotional/creative standpoint, but from intricacy and guitar heroism, it was really something

I havent heard much of it. I heard the song "Never Ending Hill" and I liked it a lot. Dan, you're right it lacks that Symphonic sound that a lot of their other stuff has. Unfortunately, I never got into him until recently, so I can't really say which album is the best/worst since I haven't heard much beside "Give Me Your Soul...Please" and "Them" but Them is definitely my favorite. I just am a bit of a stickler for production at times, but King Diamond manages to sound awesome even though their older production isn't the best. Now Immortal, has HORRIBLE production pre SOND

I was thinking I'd go into FYE and get Give Me Your Soul...Please and I'll definately get Abigail.

Also, when I brought up King Diamond to my friend he says "How do I put this...I like music that....doesnt suck." I flipped out haha

Abigail is a CLASSIC, that will never be touched by another musician (well, except for maybe his other album "Them" which is my fave) Abigail has it's own feel apart from anything else KD ever did, it's amazing! Highly recommended!

It really captures the entire essence of the album, while giving the story a sense of closure (which was part of the reason I felt Abigail II was kind of redundant, especially since Funeral takes place after The Black Horsemen), with one of the most beautiful, triumphant solos I have ever heard. I have literally spent hours at a time just listening to the last minute and a half of that song

I can only think of a handful of songs/albums that ends off with such a climax. Satan's Fall is definitely one of them. The way the entire song keeps building up, then reaches the eye of the storm (Innocent Lovers), then completely erupts with pure, yet controlled chaos (with probably the tightest rhythms I have ever heard), and finally culminates with the intro riff.
Light Of Day, Day Of Darkness, and Tomorrow's Eve's last album also deserve mention for that.
