This is the stuff I gets me going. I'm a huge Opeth and Mastodon fan, Lamb of God also. Then you throw in Nevermore, a band I've heard of, but haven't heard their music. Now I gotta go to youtube and see what I can find.
Every Nevermore release is great, but I'd start with the pinnacle, This Godless Endeavor. Catchy, heavy, epic. One of those old school/new school bands to my ears, just like the others mentioned. LOG and Mastodon were my most anticipated for the early part of the year. Mastodon comes out March 24 I believe.
Hopefully Nevermore is working on a new one right now...they should be, I believe. It's about that time.
This is their thrashyest album so far. It is also the first of their's I have liked a lot from the first listen. The others took a few listens to sink in. Wrath is a very good album.
I enjoy what I've heard off of this disc so far, and hope to be getting it tomorrow or so. There seems to be a lot more dynamics in the music itself this go around. And the Pantera comparisons are ridiculous....and oooooooooooooold by now.
