New Megadeth song online

haha you're right... I didn't even catch that before. I loved New World Order back when it was on Hidden Treasures and on Youthanasia. So I guess this is kind of like Hidden Treasures part 2 then? lol just a bunch of b-sides with a few newbies?

Loved the song (after the 2nd or 3rd listen) and been pressing "play" repeatedly since yesterday. The tones on this record sound damn good to me, too.

But why on earth did they go with these TERRIBLE cover-artworks?? They look like an 11yo fan with a cracked copy of Photoshop did them ...

Dave obviously took a trip to Alton Towers recently :

Although the Alton Towers 13 logo is cooler imho.

Crappy youtube quality so cant really judge the mix...

The song isn't bad by any means, it just seems to be missing...something. I'm not even sure what really, maybe I'm just not letting myself like it too much. I'll have to give it a few more listens me thinks.

Either way I have hope for the new album.

It sounds too digital. Yes, yes, I know it's a youtube vid, and an early leak, but you can still get a pretty clear sense that the tones overall sound like trash. From the songs I've heard so far, it sounds like it's going to be a cross between The World Needs A Hero and The System Has Failed albums (both songwriting, mix and tone wise). That's what I think so far anyway, but we'll see when the final product is officially in our hands.

But yes, I agree... something does sound missing. It's called Marty Friedman! :D

For me, it's definitely Nick Menza who is most notably missing on this song. Listen to Drover's weak and boring drums; they sound so uncreative and uninspired. Then listen to the drumming on Holy Wars and you're practically knocked off your seat by the energy of Menza's playing. This song was just generic, dull, modern Megadeth for me.:bah:

I agree 100%

Here's a better quality version of "Never Dead" that was posted on Chris Broderick's fb page:
