DISCONCERT MUSIC opens its doors

Disconcert Music is a new Quebec label which aims to preserve the
extreme music style that shaped the youth of its team, all the while
keeping a modern approach. We are here to give a maximum of exposure
to new talents, established artists and reissued classics in the world
of death metal. Now, here are our two first offerings.

SORDID

Formed at the turn of the new century, Sordid did not lose a single
second to establish itself on the stage by playing with known acts
such as Misery Index, Exhumed, Immolation, Cannibal Corpse and Ion
Dissonance, and presenting their pure and constraint less death metal
in an explosive way. 2006 delivers "Valley of Punishment", an album
that will leave no rest to the eardrums with a dynamic collection of
riffs, an extremely diverse assortment of vocals and drums played with
astonishing precision. "Valley of Punishment" includes performances
from Alex Erian (Despised Icon) and Stéphane Pare (Quo Vadis). Sordid
can be seen as a mixture of Dying Fetus, Misery Index and Internal
Bleeding

CANOPY

With a seal of approval directly from the hands of Dan Swanö (EDGE OF
SANITY, BLOODBATH) and having already earned much experience with
"During Day One" (2004) and "Will and Perception" (2005), Canopy
finally comes to America with a first release: "Serene Catharsis".
This first full length album clearly shows the young groups immense
talent. Canopy knows how to perfectly mix blistering riffs and
guttural vocals to incredible melodies that are sometimes supported by
progressive elements. "Serene Catharsis" was produced by Jonathan
Hedlin, Canopy's young guitarist, mixed by Ola Englund and mastered by
the renowned Peter in de Betou (Messhugah, Dimmu Borgir, Dismember).
Canopy has a style all their own, although strewn with influences such
as Edge of Sanity and Amon Amarth.

I.N.R.I

If all those who proclaim themselves as members of the “doctrines of anticonformist art” would apply the same fury and the same speed of execution that one feels when listening to “UltraSonic HateStorm”, I.N.R.I would nevertheless still and always remain leader in their genre. From its high level of musical proficiency accentuated with ferocious and memorable melodies. Also of note is the collaboration of booklet artwork specialist Jacek Winiewski (VADER, DECAPITATED, KRISIUN). A gathering of musical elements parallel to acts such as GOD DETHRONED, MALEVOLENT CREATION and THE CROWN.

AGONY

For many, the title “Apocalyptic Dawning” represents one of the first stones laid out to build Quebec’s death metal scene. One of the first studio recordings of producer J-F Dagenais(KATAKLYSM, MALEVOLENT CREATION) To mark the re-release of this classic, the very rare “Eve of Destruction” demo is included, as to never fall into popular indifference. This memoriam also represents one of the first console efforts of the renowned Pierre Remillard (OBLIVEON, CRYPTOPSY, KRISIUN). Do note that this is the first time that both of these significant works are re-mastered and archived on CD…for posterity and never to be forgotten.

SYMBIONTIC

In the world of music as in many fields, the Germans influenced many societies and as a result, are less influenced by external sources. But to every rule there is an exception and as far as we are concerned, “Bioconstruct”(re-edited, re-mastered and re-designed) is in fact an amendment to the legislation. This first artistic effort offers a direct symbiosis of 90’s ‘made in Florida’ death metal(MORBID ANGEL, MONSTROSITY). Pure, brutal, true, nothing less.

STIGMATIZED

Disconcert Music is pleased to present the newest addition to its roster: Germany’s STIGMATIZED, a cutting edge death metal band that displays its unique style carrying influences from such pillars as DEATH, PESTILENCE and TESTAMENT. The band’s first full length entitled LIVE IN DESPAIR was recorded at Soundlodge Studios with Jörg Uken (OBSCENITY, GOD DETHRONED) and is already getting great reviews across Europe (ROCK HARD 8/10 and METAL HAMMER 6/7).

LIVE IN DESPAIR will be available March 27th 2007 in America through Fusion 3 in Canada and Century Media’s distribution for the rest.

Disconcert Music is thrilled to announce the signing of VENGEFUL for the release of their full-length debut, entitled "Karma". VENGEFUL is a new Montreal-based band featuring current and former members of ATHERETIC, MINDS and DESPISED ICON’s drummer (as a session member). The act plays death metal that is fuelled by pure hatred and deep anger accompanied by a firm sense of song structure and dynamic, their music shows influences from pioneers such as GORGUTS, IMMOLATION, NILE and CRYPTOPSY.

The artwork was created by Martin Lacroix (CRYPTOPSY, SPASME) and the layout was done by Gab.357 (ION DISSONANCE, BENEATH THE MASSACRE, NEURAXIS).

“Karma” will be released on May 29th 2007 through Fusion 3 in Canada and Century Media's distribution channels for America.
