hey, just wanted to point you to their myspace
theres a new song plus video put up which imho
turned out quite cool. usual stuff but i love it anyway.

Mmmm... Sounds like they are leaning towards metalcore/in flames... Disappointed. And the new singer doesn't come even close to T.Lindberg.

what? the breakdowns during the last 2 seconds ?
heck no :D
sounds alot like the stuff on "descent" to me, which is okay.
i'd buy the album for crushing tone and mix alone.

yeah this is not nightrage i expect... but is ok...

i hate the snare also...

i have the complete album and the dark tranquillity too hehe sounds the same..

Sounds okay. It's weird with out Tomas Lindberg. I don't like Lindbergs voice THAT much, but I like the way he delivers and I like his lyrics. From what I've heard so far it sounds very much like Descent. But I like it enough to buy it.

This Nightrage album I WONT be picking up, regardless of production. It's practically a different band/ sound now IMO.

BLASPHEMY!! I seriously hope you're wrong about that (music wise at least).

Production seems alright. Sweet Vengeance was one of my favourite produced metal releases of all time, and irrespective of the music, the new album seems like it'll go into my reference pile.

Did Daniel Bergstrand do this?... it sounds like his more modern tame mixes that he's done for IF and Soilwork.

The band trying to do those big leads without Gus G just seems like sacrilege. The band has none of that attitude it had on Sweet Vengeance, despite how generic the music was.

I dunno... I don't like the mix on this one that much, and the songwriting is just meh.

The only original member is the old rhythm guitarist, right? Without Tomas Lindberg (who I absolutely LOVE) and Gus. G, it's just not Nightrage :(.

AMEN to that

any one knows what is Tomas Lindberg doing now? new band or something?

marios writes most of the songs, so theres hope.
personally i only regret the departure of per möller jensen.
and jimmie strimmel is indeed a killer vocalist, check out his old
band cypher system.

The vocals are what turn me off it the most tbh. I mean, when a band has had Tomas, there's no point in getting anyone else, cos they've got no chace of being anything other than a Tomas clone. Regardless of my "controversial" view (im sure someone will dissagree) I do think that his vocals suck for Nightrage, with or without Tomas having been in the band.

TBH I'm not even going to bother listening to them. If the songs are supposedly even more generic than the other albums, I couldn't cope! Agreed, the production is great, but every song I've ever heard by them can be directly linked to an inflames/arch enemy/at the gates song, even down to chord patterns and the solo style on each track :S Try "Hero" against "Embody the Invisible" for a good example of what I mean :-/ It's a shame they couldn't pull something more interesting out, especially with the lineup they had!

i am a little disappointed, too. i heard that clean vocal chorus and yea, the band has lost a bit of attitude it seems. sweet vengence is their best imo....just a total ass kicking...

losing tomas was worse than gus....marios writes most of the shit/gus can be replaced.....but no one screams like tomas

This is probably gonna piss someone off but I seriously don't think Tomas voice fits with any other band than At The Gates. He kinda annoys me on Sweet Vengeance :Smug:

I like Tomas because he sounds like he's giving it 110% all the time. There's none of that standard metal growling where it's almost conservative because vocalists want to have a voice in 5 years time. Tomas is shredding it all the time, and I just love the intensity that gives the music.

I agree....his delivery is just outstanding and I think it fits Nightrage absolutely perfectly. Tomas makes any band better...it only hurts to lose a vocalist like that. I mean just listen to "The Tremor" from SV....awesome intensity.
