Hey friends and fiends...

hCheck it out here before you check out.

We're working on getting the endorsement of the Estate of Carl Sagan, distribution support from Apple, testimonials from Consumer Affairs (sorry Congress) and sponsorship by Dr. Pepper. :)

Song samples located at the music buffet table.

A little background on Oceans of Night:
As the enigmatic and talented name suggests, Oceans of Night is a modern rock band - equal parts progressive rock and modern metal wrapped around powerful vocal melodies and evocative guitar work served with a distinct ambient flavor. Featuring musical mastermind Scott Mosher, vocal powerhouse Scott Oliva and the drum mastery of the talented Alan Smithee, Oceans of Night create epic and dynamic music with an cinematic twist, and each CD release is a musical experience that demands your undivided attention. With 2 CD's currently in circulation (and 4 more under the Scott Mosher banner, from 1996 though 2006) Oceans of Night are forging a brave new path in the world of progressive metal music.

Thanks for your time, attendance and consideration in such important matters as metal!

A quick little plug for our new CD, DOMAIN.

DOMAIN is the second CD release from progressive metal band, Oceans of Night. Mixed and mastered by Joey Vera (Fates Warning, Armored Saint, Engine) DOMAIN features a refined focus on the staples of the Oceans of Night sound: soaring vocal melodies, evocative guitar solos, sophisticated rhythm structures, and dynamic song arrangements wrapped in a tapestry of percolating ambience. Epic and cutting edge, this is music that makes a bold and powerful statement.

Ok, enough of the long-winded drab rhetoric of the "official statement".

Also, feel free to hop on over to YouTube for the . Fits most head sizes...

Thanks in advance for your time, attendance and consideration.

This intrigues me.... very impressive! :)
Thanks. It's like Rush... mix well with a bit of Queensryche and Fates Warning... add in a healthy dose of Iron Maiden and a bit of Marillion... stir, add a heaping dose of Tangerine Dream... drop in a few tea spoons of trance, turn on the blender, turn off the lights, and imbibe.

Pretty impressive; curious to hear the whole album... Is it out yet?
Indeed it is! Here's the order page. and it also should up at CDBaby in the next week or so.

Thanks for listening folks. Order 12 copies for Christmas, the neighbors, and even the neighbors dog. :)

just what in the hell is "a tapestry of percolating ambience" - can't they just say it is outstanding music?

No, they can't because 1. it actually DOES percolate (like a nice hot cup of joe in the morning), 2. it's against PR law to describe something in mundane terms (such as "it's great!" or "this is good music") and 3. you'd put some creative writer out of a job, and in this economy, I'd feel bad. :)
