New Orleans - what tomorrow brings?

I would like to ask those of you, guys, who are professional geologists, engineers, contractors, architectors etc. or actually anybody - what's gonna happen down there? Will be the city somehow rebuilt, when, and is there any point to build it back on the same dangerous spot?

I've wondered all along why people are surprised this happend. It was only a matter of time, and it's only a matter of time before it happens again.

They will most likely put the town right back where it is, as if nothing happened. They'll rebuild some of the levees, maybe make 'em bigger. There will be a large hubub about it on the news, with alot of self-congratulating by alot of politicians from both parties.


And then in 10-15 years this will happen again, and everyone will go apeshit; just like now! And we'll all be blaming the politicians of the party that has different viewpoints to our own; just like now! Morons will loot, and people will shoot at the looters; just like now! And another goddamn natural disaster will potentially push back another year of awesome football; just like now!
