I very rarely give any recommendation on these boards about bands, but I just came across this through a friend yesterday and I was floored. I haven't heard such a solid debut in a long time.

I know melo death has seen it's better days and it's been a long time since I've enjoyed the style, but this album has a lot going for it. Although there are no clean vocals (which may be an issue for some), the music definitely fills in the need for contrast. There's even an atmospheric/bluesy instrumental near the end of the album.

Here is the album that they just released like two days ago:

Checked this out and found it to be boring. Sorry, but I didn't find anything exceptional about it. I'll give it another spin at some point, but my first impression is *yawn*.

Everyone has their own tastes, but this is not boring to me by any means. This is an album I could spend the afternoon with and be comfortable listening to repeatedly - then again I'm sure I can't say the same for other bands that people think are exciting and new to them, yet tragically boring to me.

Not at all boring, dude. Excellent use of keyboards. Very dynamic, great musicianship and a great sense of melody. These guys are not from the Swedish grain of melodic death metal at all. In fact, that's what makes them progressive. I hear the aggressiveness of Darkane mixed with the attention to mood and atmosphere of anything that Dan Swano is involved with. I can't believe something of this quality is unsigned. These guys need some distribution and exposure! Good, good stuff.
