This what it is and we had until the 16th to get done, I started mixing it the 15th.

Sounds really good to me.. keeping in mind you mixed it in one day! furthermore, i really like the guitars on this one.. they have this gritty, dark sound to them.. makes the whole mix it's own... really a own sound...

some parts really remind me of bloodbath.. must be the singer and the riffs...

Overall, good mix.. not much to rip apart on the song or mix.. the drums could be a bit bigger.. in comparison with the guitars.. but hey, i like it!!

Man, REALLY dark thick guitar tone. What was the chain for that? I dig it- like bob said, it has it's own sound. Maybe I'd prefer but a little more sparkle to the guitars but that's a taste thing. Overall I think it's really really good.

Four guitars. Pod 2.0. Two patches, one brit hi gain and the other rectified. panned 80 & 100. And then the C4 patch (which REALLY helped on these guitars), after that just some filtering out from 60hz down and 13k up.

I just did a new mix of this song. The bass is alot better now. The guitar sound is a bit different too. Any ideas on how to further develop the sound?

I liked the original guitars more, the new ones are too dark sounding, bass definetly sounds better, the drums dont seem to have much punch, maybe compress them more, to get more of a pop, i like the vocals though man, slap some verb on them a little bit maybe. Overall pretty good man!

The snare is what's bugging me most. Never sounds right heh.
As for reverb, I think more verb on them would ruin it a bit, but that's just me

nah, it's me as well, my fav vocals are the older opeth stuff with the reverb that makes it sound like theres wind howling behind his vocals, like on demon of the fall, and karma
