they became more of a rock/heavy metal type feel kinda punkband, no matter what all the playahaters say, theire last album is killer!! and don't forget they love Anthrax and they fucked Paris Hilton!!

well this will be my first post and i couldnt think of a better way than to show my loyalty for real metal and or real punk.
SUM 41 sucks big monkey pole.
everything they have done sucks.
i have been a long time metal head, and grew up listening to punk.
and this so called punk that we hear now is a fucking joke.
if Sid vicious could only see punk rock now. we would die again.
he would die from being sick to his stomach....No actually let me change that Sid would do something about it.
He would probably blow all these pop punk fucks up!
if i have offended anyone i must say in true metal fashion Oh fucking well. i am not here to make friends, just to speak my mind.

I'm glad punk evolved in many many many different ways!! this type a punk has nothing to do with the 70's punk style, and they don't pretend to be punx like Exploited or Sex Pistolsbad_omen said:

The thing I don't get is that it seems people on metal message boards will say they like Sum 41 then bring up how much Sum 41 likes metal. That doesn't excuse the fact that they play shitty pop punk music. The new album sounds like they're just pandering to that crowd and it's very contrived.

theire style is punk pop!!!, most people don't like it because you see them 24/7 on MTV and they made the big bucks, I know good music when I hear it, these guys do a good job. I agree with you on the metal thing, that doesn't make you a good band, but it's nice that they learned it from the best, Anthrax!!!!!!!!!!

I liked the early stuff, half hour of power is cool, had a Bosstones/Sublime feel, it was a good party album. The new stuff I heard on the computer it sounds to run of the mill, I was going to buy it but like Green Day they started talking politics, for three albums they had nothing to do with politics and now they want to jump on the wagon, Fuck that. I'll wait till I see it used.

I was cranking some kick ass punk and metal on vinyl last night.
Dutchy - I know you like a lot of punk, so I might try and send a tape of some of this vinyl to you. the production will be bad but at least you can listen and see if you like some of the bands b4 you purchase any CD's.
Cincy - Sublime wouldn't exist if the Clash never did
just had to poke fun because I used to go to a bar that played Sublime all the fucking time, they're a good band and recorded at my college and I didn't even know it. Damn.
