New Symphony X album Underworld in July!!!!

I'm liking it. I've gone through it about four times today. Mostly at work through headphones with some distractions, but over all it's solid. Does anyone else feel like some the literally references are feeling forced though? Maybe it's just me.

Yeah, lyrically I think it's on the cheesy side, but overall execution is fantastic. Romeo is blazing on this, and RA sounds great. I'm one of those that had been hoping for a little less angry Russ. It's not that I hate angry Russel, but he sounds so good with clean vocals.

I don't know how far up the Sym-X chart it will go for me. At least on the first listen, I don't think it's going to displace the classic albums, but maybe jump ahead of the last couple. We'll see.

I did like the new Symhony X better than expected and the two singles are currently my least favorite...

There are a couple softer tracks, but by and large there's no evidence of sissyism on the disc.

As I said earlier, I picked up Underworld and checked it out. It's okay, but not even close in any way to the mastery that is Iconoclast.

To each their own. I was not fond of Iconoclast nor Paradise Lost. I personally liked "V" a little more than "The Odyssey", which I liked a little more than "Paradise Lost", which I liked more than...etc

The new one gives me hope...

His album is interesting. It's like metal and western rock in a blender with a lot of self-deprecating humor (and plenty of technicality and chops). I love it quite a lot.

The Mythology suite is what turned me off SX. A horrible, punchless album and not to mention intensely boring. I didn't care much for The Odyssey, either. Paradise Lost brought me back and Iconoclast made me love them. Iconoclast is now a desert island album for me.

For me I disagree, it is right on par with Iconoclast which I love, its taken about 6 listens to get into the understanding of the music and lyrics and I freaking love it! I also can't get some of Russ' vocals out of my head, his vocal performance on this album has gone up as compared to Iconoclast. I keep catching myself singing Kiss of Fire!!!!!! I love CHron and Hell and Back as well, great album!!!!

Wow, V is a classic, awesome album, I could not disagree with you more. Saying Egypt, Evolution, Fallen, Death of Balance, The Bird Serpent war ect is boring and punchless is beyond confounding to me.
