seems like theres a lot of low/mid mud to be cleared up but there is really good instrument seperation in this mix

yeah...... agreed but once that shit is all cleaned up and nice and 'perty... the mix loses it's vibe, intensity and violent nature.....

went through the same thing with Martyrs... had Ermz give the master a couple tries and we both agreed that remedying that particular problem completely unglues the whole mix and makes it....... boring?

Could be a TAD more controlled I agree but the idea was to go BALLS OUT and I think we accomplished that =D

thanks for the instrument seperation comment, though! i'm getting better... it's not something i EVER consciously think about.... i just want everything to have it's place and slam ur fuckin' face. =D

Man, where are the mids? no love for 1khz? And the vocals and overheads sound like they were recorded in a tunnel...not vibing with this one :/ My ear just hears a massive hole in the mids that I just can't adjust to, its like every frequency that I equate to an electric guitar is missing
