New to mixing. Help me getting better?

Hello dudes and metal gods!

Songs recorded using a real shitty soundcard, and using guitar rig 3 for guitars and bass with some software-compression on the way into the rig, still I'm lacking punch in my guitars. (Does GR really suck, or am I terrible at tweaking it?)
I used Ezdrummer/Drumkit from hell for the drums, wich I think sounds good, but I'm having trouble with getting a really nice kick-sound (Like that deep, yet clicky beautiful sneapkick) I also would like the snare to "sit" a little better in the mix, if you guys understand what i mean by that.

Would be awesome to get some critics and tips on how to do things better both mixing-wise aswell as arrangement

I'm not even clicking the links to hear the songs, but I'll give you advice based on your post.

"Songs recorded using a real shitty soundcard" - Stop there. If you know the stuff was recorded with a real shitty soundcard, go out and buy a interface. You'll really appreciate it.

In my opinion, Guitar Rig sucks. Big time. :/ If you're a pirate, or wanna buy something, try Peavey's Revalver. If you're not into either of those, try out Nick Crow's free VST's.

As far as drums go, I'm 100% against drumkit from hell. Try Superior Drummer 2.0(With Metal Foundry) or Steven Slate. Or better yet, if you can, try real drums!

Download dropbox, upload your songs there, and post the public link, and I'd glady give your mix a listen

thanks for some good tips Revalver is on its way, and I'll definately check out steven slate and superior. Metal foundry, is that the one Daniel Bergstrand made samples for? I'm not completely in to his drumsound really, even though he mixed my bands new album, and the thing sounds awesome. drums are so dry.

I'm using my boss' computer right now, so I will have to upload the songs later.

I personally, only dig the cymbals/room mics in S2.0

But it's worth it just for that.

SSD is great for snare blending, ect.
