Well I just Wikipedia'd VAST and suddenly found a new album listed... apart from April.

Closed Romantic Realism is an album by VAST scheduled to be released in late 2007 or early 2008. A text document made available to VAST Fan Club members recently said the following:

"The demo version of Like God will be on the record released after April, tentatively titled "Closed Romantic Realism," slated for late 2007 or early 2008."

I don't know where the info is from and frankly I can't be bothered finding it. But I am fucking PSYCHED! This make anybody else's evening?

hmmm... well anything really. but i started with their debut visual audio sensory theater. songs like flames, the niles edge, pretty when you cry, you just in case you wanna download first for a sampler. they really are worth it!

oh wow this is great news biggsy thanx!!

another good song (that has been one of my favorites through the years) is Touched, which is from the debut album as well.

I've had Nude for a few years now and i love it. Cant wait for the new one.

VAST opened for my friends when he was like 14, he was kind of a shredder back then. Neat that he's still going strong and has fans and all this stuff.

it's about damn time i check out this band. give me a place to start, biggsy!

how about I give u a song...!!!..."I dont have anything"...thats my fav. VAST song....pure genious...jsut a simple chord progression with synths adn a killer drum loop....and offcourse a aweosme vocal melody.....PEAC EOUT

Get the first album. It's the most developed and the best-sounding, with tons of choral samples. The second one (music for people) is kind of catchy overblown U2 style rock, it's not bad but it's nowhere near the first album. The third (nude) is much better than the second and almost as good as the first, but I still think the first is the best starting point.

My main problem with "Nude" was that it was too short. I got the Crimson and Turquoise EPs before it was released, and it was disappointing that "Nude" was basically just the Turquoise EP with a couple songs off the Crimson one adding up to like, 45 minutes. He should have put some more on there, several songs that didn't make the cut were really good and the album is too short.

whoa, thats awesome. he was identified as a rising star early on (12 or 13 i think?).

wankerness is absolutely right i think, although i think music for people is a great record. the music on the first one is just absolutely lush. his vocals and the samples from benedictine monks and stuff really cap it off.

Yeah, it's not bad, I always enjoy listening to it (besides Free which I think is kind of stupid), but it doesn't seem to have the same gravity of the first album. Still recommended just definitely not in the same league.
