You know? We don't talk about W.A.S.P. in here much, and maybe for good reason.....they have made their own very checkered past afterall......but I'll personally go on record here that the first album was really excellent, and it even still holds up! I remember hearing it the first time and thinking they were a good mix between accessible melody and European metal sensibility. The Last Command was a little over produced, and they kind of lost the plot after that, but, again, that first record still shines.
About two months ago I picked up used copies of Helldorado, KFD, Dying for the World and Unholy Terror. One thing is consistent throughout those albums, the songs are either very good or complete shit. Out of those four albums there are two solid albums. Which is consistent for W.A.S.P. after The Idol...
Well I don´t know about you rest but I have always liked wasp. Well blacie had made some bad albums at the 90´s but he´s latest Neon god part.1 was pretty good. And I still think he can do good music. Hope the new album will rock too.

It took a while to grow on me but KFD on the whole appeals to me. Helldorado, however, is yet to really catch my attention. I was a dedicated fan up until The Idol and listen to everything prior to that regularly to this day. I was the kind of mad fan that loved Live in the Raw for 3 special songs alone.
Since masterpiece "The crimson idol" (one of my favourite albums), Blackie hs released crap after crap. I listened all the albums and maybe I could do one (or two) best of Cd from "Still not black enough" to "The neon god - part II".
For me, Blackie is a snake charmer that cheats their fans playing 60 or 70 minutes long shows. Besides, I saw WASP 4 times in the last 2 years and from stuff since 1993 they only play "Hate to love me" in their initial medley. Neither Blackie trusts in his last 15 years albums.
If he shows up at all. He has a bad reputation in the states for cancelling gigs. He won't do that in Europe because he gets to play in front of thousands of fans here he plays to a couple hundred people and frankly he doesn't give a shit about them.
Well now that I have heard the whole album I must say it´s best WASP since Crimson Idol. There´s not any bad song just few avarage and thats it.
Yeah, they're very hit and miss. Dying for the World was arguably a brilliant comeback. I'm not much of a WASP fan but that album got repeated listens in my player when it came out.
Not totally sold on the new one yet. I've listened to it a couple of times and so far I let it play all the way through without skipping any. But there are other things I'd rather listen to. It's somewhere in the "it's OK" range.
