I'm getting in in two days and due to a scheduling error have 5 days either side of recording at the machine shop free and also in need of accommodation. Where is decent and cheap to stay, and not too far out of the action?

Also, anyone wanna hang and show us around. Any good guitar shops?

You may already know this, but when people stay in the area for cheap they tend to stay in a town outside the city like Clifton and take the train in. Wouldn't know a place to stay though.

+1, that area can get REAL expensive.

As far as guitar shops the only place I know is a GC in Totowa, but thats prob about 20-30 minutes away from there. Only about 10 from Clifton

Theres a cool guitar shop about a block down from The Cake Shop. Had some awesome vintage stuff. Greg may know the name of it as he lives not too far away from it.

30th Street guitars. Near Penn station I believe. Not far from the Garden. There's also the 14th Street GC between 5th and 6th avenue. The old music row where sam ash and mannys used to be sucks now. Not gonna find anything cheap really NYC rent is high.
Not sure about lodgings for 5 days. I would say if you can find a cheap motel in NJ its a 10 min train ride to the city from a lot of areas. Or you could try Brooklyn. Gotta be someone on here who can let you crash!

Currently crashing at a fans out at long branch about 2 mins from the beach. Will be up in Hoboken come sat. Also got thrown on to headline a show in binghamton on sat if anyone's in that area.

Binghamton is a college town should be a good time! Far from the NYC though about 6 hours I think?
