Newest Mix... sounds a little odd. help?

Drums sound too pushed back imo. What string gauge/tuning do you have on your guitar? Sounds kinda loose. Using a tubescreamer of sorts?

Nice job, though. Sounds promising. You might want to think of getting some reference headphones or monitors. Things will probably translate better for you.

Really? I thought the drums were too forward. hmm... or maybe I need to adjust the snare/tom/kick levels higher and the cymbals lower?
I'm using a 72 on a 28.625" scale agile 8-string (it doesn't feel loose to me) and the TSS VST plugin.
What kind of reference headphones would you recommend?

well I cleaned up the frequencies a bit, and now you can really hear all the little mistakes I make, both in singing and playing. That's probably a major factor in what's making the mix so muddy at times: the muddy playing. Def gotta clean that up.
Also, it is NOT EASY mixing 8-string guitars with bass. I'm having a really hard time with this.

EDIT: also finally added the fade-out it's supposed to have :P

I've got some Audio Technica M50s that I really like. Other people on this forum recommended them awhile ago.

New mix is sounding a lot better to me. Though, guitar tone is still a bit odd imho. If you're having trouble mixing the guitar and bass together, maybe look up some threads that have talked about Bergstrand and his mixing. Or really, just anything that deals with creating a place and space for each instrument.
