Finnish melodic power metallers EXCALION have parted ways with guitarist Kimmo Hänninen. "Kimmo's music taste is a bit different so it was slowly killing the motivation," the band write on their web site. "Now he has more time for his own projects and study.

"Kimmo will join us for the gigs we play before we find a replacement."

EXCALION's next performance will take place on January 6 at Kajaani-Halli in Kajaani, Finland. Also appearing on the bill will be SONATA ARCTICA. "Unfortunately this is a private happening for 'Kainuun Prikaati' so it won't be open [to the public]," the group write on their web site.

EXCALION recently completed work on their debut album, entitled "Primal Exhale". Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Moment In Spotlight", "Stage of Lies", "Megalomania", "My Legacy", and "Reality Bends". Cover artwork will be handled by C.A. Interactive (MORIFADE, KATATONIA, SUPREME MAJESTY). An early 2005 release via Sound Riot Records is expected.
