I'm quite interested to see that Cryptopsy are looking for people to send in their stuff to apply for the position of "second live guitarist" for Cryptopsy. I had assumed they just would have asked someone they knew, like last time with Dan Mongrain. I guess there isn't anyone else.

Anyone here going to send in their stuff? I'm really looking forward to the new album.......and GoD is not allowed to tell me he has the leak....

Anyway.....here's the full press thing, the newest album is also finished.

Once Was Not, Cryptopsy's fifth studio album,
was completed last week. Sébastien Marsan, at
his Studio Vortex in St-Constant (Quebec, Canada),
did a wondrous job of mixing and engineering.
The album was mastered by UE Nastasi at Sterling
Sound in New York City and features artwork by
François Quévillon, Filip Ivanovic and Martin Lacroix.
With eleven tracks totaling about 50 minutes, this
is a concept album where every song has its own
identity. We made sure to have a lot of flavors and
different rhythms and tempos throughout the whole
process, the variations in the tracks may surprise
some of you. An exclusive Cryptopsy studio report
will be featured in BW&BK #91 in August. Expect
Once Was Not to be released in October by
Century Media Records.

In the meantime, Cryptopsy are still a 4-piece looking
for a fifth piece: In this case, a second guitarist for
our bouts of extensive touring.

Guitarists : send your bios to the e-mail address
displayed on the web site's news page and send your
CDs and DVDs (for the obvious reason that we like
freebies) at this address:

and then later this fall on tour with Suffocation, Aborted
and Despised Icon in the United States and Canada.

I am, I expect it to be one of the best albums of the year.

None so Vile pwns.
The problem is, nothing they've made since that album has been anything special (except the live album, which owned)

It's because Cryptopsy are too worried about dazzling with their technicality, and forgot to write interesting songs.

Oh gosh....I remember this discussion. We remember it, let's not start again.

Edit: It's fixed now....just some kind of web anomaly.

Thanks for not coming to Philadelphia on this tour. The last time I saw you guys play your entire set was ruined when I fell in the mosh pit during the first song and cracked my head open.

The irony being that I genuinely just downloaded it. ;)

You might have been able to get me if I wasn't wearing my special GoD-teasing-resistant underwear.
