IRON MAIDEN producer Kevin Shirley, who is currently working with the band at a London studio on their as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2000's "Brave New World", has posted the following recording update via his official web site:

"A fergin fabulous day yesterday, as MAIDEN were breaching new frontiers — oh yes, drummer Nicko [McBrain] has had his first song recorded since he's been in the band, so it was a momentous occasion. But wait, I get ahead of myself. The day began with passports and papers and all sorts of the red tape bollocks that has to be done to allow them to bring the circus to your town. Then they played the epic from the Monday session, and out of the box it sounded 100% better, and after I offered my two cents of production advice, we took another 3 takes — each one fabulous — so today we'll go through them and edit it together. As we don't have Bruce again this week, I suggested we cut another song, and Nicko had one and taught it to the guys — did you know that he's a great bass player, and in the 'Arry style too! So we cut Nicko's song — five takes of it, and it was blistering!!!! A really quick rocker with a great chorus - so cheers, heave one up for Nicko. I didn't stay around to witness the Uncle Remus on Margaux come out, but methinks I may tomorrow. The band are not in today - it's a day to go over everything and consolidate where we are! Rock on..."

A brand new photo of guitarist IRON MAIDEN guitarist Dave Murray laying down tracks in the studio can be viewed at this location.

'Nicko was bored of drums and wanted to play guitar, so he went to a shop and asked searching questions about the instrument..
the man in the shop was quite a player, and showed his approval towards Nicko's interest.
Nicko said.."gimme your best Gibson, money aint a problem"
the man in the shop replied, "id love to, but this is a bakery"

it sounds funny as fuck, but i can't wait 'till i hear it!!!
