"It took this festival only a few editions to raise to one of the leading progressive rock festivals in Europe - or probably even the world.
Next to the music and bands that have taken part at the festival editions, the main reason for the success is simply the location! The UNESCO world heritage Loreley is one of the most outstanding open air amphitheaters in Europe. High above the river Rhine, the visitors are overwhelmed by the beautiful surrounding area.
By this outstanding ambiente we continue to establish the festival as the "Mekka of Progressive Rock". The hightlights of the past 3 years have been for sure the appearances of Fish, ASIA, Jethro Tull, Roger Hodgson, Steve Hackett, Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Marillion - to name a few.
The tradition to supply a stage for young and emerging artists is one of our major tasks. To give them the chance to play in front of thousands of people will definitely help to create a career.
The VI. NOTP Festival will take place on July 8th and 9th 2011.

DREAM THEATER are confirmed as the Festival Headliner of the 6th Night of the Prog Festival. We are also proud to announce German Prog Legend ELOY to perform their first show within 12 years on friday, July 8th. RIVERSIDE will close the Friday as Co-Headliner.IQ, ANATHEMA are confirmed for Saturday to the Festival. HAKEN, MOON SAFARI and MARTIGAN has been added to the Line IP. Finally SKY ARCHITECT, RPWL and THRESHOLD are the 3 missing Acts which are now confirmed and the Line Up is completed."

Man, if I had the bucks to go to this, I would in heartbeat. I'd be especially interested in Eloy since I've been a fan of theirs since the late 70's. Would also love to see IQ and Anathema. That definitely will be a hell of a weekend of Prog.

Maybe I should start playing the lottery too... hahahahaha

I need, need, need to see Riverside before I die. Perhaps this is my chance since they never seem to come to my country.

HAKEN confirmed for Saturday 9th at Night of the Prog VI with Dream Theater, Anathema and IQ. Haken also make their US debut at Progpwer USA XII.

That's a pretty neat lineup. Riverside, Anathema and Dream Theater are worth the admission alone.

I wish there'd be a better Prog festival in the USA other than Snoozefest... I mean, Nearfest.

Yeah, I just got ahold of a German friend of mine, and we're planning on checking out this great line-up as well. Without doubt, one of the most amazing venues I've ever been to, overlooking the Rhine river! Finally getting to see Riverside, IQ, and RPWL (in addition to the incredible Anathema and Threshold). Dream Theater will just be icing on the cake!
