"NOEKK aren’t antiquated at all, they’re simply amazingly strong and direct, and on the other hand they’re mystical and unforeseeable. The comparisons they’ve earned so far – Landberk, King Crimson, and last but not least EMPYRIUM of course – hint at the timeless quality of their music and point out the many facets of this band"

I think it reminds me of early Rainbow meets something oddball-ish like Jethro Tull (sans flute) with a young Dio on the vox. Or something with lyrics about mountains and water sprites and silver winds...whatever it is, I like it.

i think comparisons to king crimson need to be outlawed. over their ridiculously long career they have changed their sound and style so drastically so often that the moment you make a comparison to them BAM you sound nothing like them anymore. anyhow.

ugh, these vocals suck. music sounds like it's trying to be songs from the wood by tull + songs of n00bs and misty moonwalkers. perfectly okay, but not good.

Well I'm not sure who wrote that initial garb but I don't hear any KC or Empyrium (other than in the lyrics perhaps).

Comparisons aside, it's always better to listen to music in its own right, right? Helm has turned into Ronnie James Dio, haha.

There's a new Vision Bleak album out there too....

YUO FAIL IT, POST-EMPYRIUM. :loco:

i never heard ... no that's not true, i listened to some vision bleak samples awhile back, don't remember them really. empyrium is hardly a daily listen for me anyhow, i'm pretty content with those 3 great albums + the perfectly okay wintersunset.

this is approaching 5-star territory just for it's distinct lack of enthusiasm.

it's like the incredibly boring man talking to himself in here, i love it!

I'm planning on celebrating the labor day weekend tonight with much beer, and I'm hoping to get goofy enough that I might even hug Mariusz "Szczery" Szczerski...that is, if he was still alive.

Well, so far I'm up to three beers, on my fourth now, and as I said, it's strong stuff. With any luck I'll get a bit more drunk then fucking bike out to the forest or something.

heading out to the pub tonight to celebrate getting our demo done, shouldn't get too trashed since holiday weekends = massive chance of getting trouble with The Man.

also last night i realized i haven't actually gone out out in several months, all my beer drinking and general jolliness has been with the band in the bandgarage. hopefully i've saved up enough energy to get loud in public tonight! :kickass:

generally yeah, but sobriety checkpoints are a regular occurence during 3-day weekends. i would say it sorta sucks, but that would be wrong or something. they've even been hyping up the drunk driving commercials for a week or two now: IF YOU DRIVE IMPAIRED, YOU WILL GET ARRESTED.
