i think comparisons to king crimson need to be outlawed. over their ridiculously long career they have changed their sound and style so drastically so often that the moment you make a comparison to them BAM you sound nothing like them anymore. anyhow.

Yeah, you have to be specific about which era and/or tonal quality of Crimson if you're going to make an inaccurate comparison to get people interested.

The Sun of the Sleepless EP is excellent.

I await Doomcifer or IoftheStorm's opinion on this Noekk -- I'm keen to hear the opinions of those into the whole hippy metal movement.

Likewise, anyone heard any Circulus yet? Rise Above Records seem like an interesting bunch. The new Witchcraft is top 10 for sure.

NAD - have you heard the new Witchcraft yet? I assume you have and were promptly blown away by the 'Sabbath meets The Doors' mannerisms. :kickass:

whoa! i've umm, never heard any witchcraft. sounds like something i'd be into though, given that description.

If I remember this, they really should just drop the electric instruments and keep doing what they do best (should be obvious to anyone who listened to the samples and has decently functioning ears)

BZZZT! Get both albums NOW!

Fuckin seriously... it's a tough call on this one for you though. They may just be treading the line between 'not enough' and 'enough' NAD factor. but what do i know?

fuck, i should upload a song if someone else doesn't first. of course, you could just go here, listen to clips of some of the best songs of 2005, and be merry!

Eh? What, you mean go back to being latter day Empyrium? But this is Noekk, different band now altogether.

Yeah, I listened to this twice maybe. I'm sure it's worthy of more listens at some point, but Empyrium >>>>>>> any other Schwadorf project.

This isn't really what I expected at all; I thought there would be some wacky 70s lead guitar and stuff. After 2 listens it sounds like a more streamlined Empyrium. The DCD cover is good, but is kinda an odd song to cover (considering they didn't alter it that much).

7/10 so far, though it has the makings of a grower.
