Non metal tastes as of late anyone?

Don't get me wrong, I still get healthy doses of metal everyday, but I've been on a real kick as of late with the following records...

STARSAILOR "Silence Is Easy" - I can't get over how brilliant this record is.

LIVE "V", "Birds Of Prey", "Secret Samadhi", "Mental Jewelry" - Basically on one big Live kick.

PINK FLOYD "Obscured By Clouds", "Animals", "Meddle"

TESLA "Into The Now" - Such a great rock record and an awesome comeback. Sanctuary released two of the great comebacks this past year. Living Colour and Tesla.

And a truly guilty pleasure, as I grew up on him during my young, adolescent years....

RICK SPRINGFIELD's latest... "Shock/Denial/Anger/Acceptance"

I must confess to listening to very little metal lately. Other than small doses of Into Eternity and Monster Magnet, all it's been lately is Zeppelin, Floyd, Supertramp, and... well that's about it. :)

Radiohead
Fiona Apple
White Mud Free Way
A Silver Mt.Zion
Ryan Adams (not Bryan)
Godspeed you Black Emperor
Mono

....and many many more

other than Dargaard or Die Verbannten Kinder Evas, it's all metal for me. I guess I'm a tr00 tr00per.

I've been getting into Bill Frisell, an awesome jazz guitarist, lately. I've listened to his stuff for a long time, but since I'm going to see him live on Friday, I thought I'd catch up on some of his releases I missed.

Stacks of non-metal over here. The wife loves her some Norah Jones. The other night we listened to JS Bach over a nice dinner. And of course, Swans has been spun a few times here or there. I really want to hear that Starsailor.

Having said that, there has been loads of good metal coming my way as of late. I reckon by year end, 2004 will OBLITERATE 2003 for metal releases. In fact, I probably already have 6-7 albums that could make it to a top 10 list, and it's only still March.

MY friends lending me the Pat Metheny DVD tomorrow can't wait. YOu said you liked him right?

I also need to order the new Pelican.

Pat Metheny rules! I didn't know he had a DVD. Is it new?
I'm really not sure, but I will be finding out soon enough! But I just remembered I have a computer programming contest tomorrow, so I probably won't be getting it.

Goblin - Profondo Rosso (great symphonic prog rock band from 70's, almost exclusively made soundtracks)

Muslimgauze - Dar es Salaam (noise/experimental music with middle-eastern influences)

Badawi - Clones & False Prophets (middle-eastern rhythms with a small dose of reggae)
