Nordvis is an independent record label based in the woodlands of Västerbotten , one of the northernmost counties in Sweden. We aim to work with musicians who build their musical creations around old native traditions, folklore & the great outback. We are not oriented within certain genres and we gladly embrace different styles, where we can celebrate the consistency of melancholy and unique atmosphere.

With 2014 already looking like a very good year, having released new material from STILLA and SKOGEN up ’til now, today we can proudly present the signing of DRÅPSNATT. The duo from northern Sweden have three albums to their name before signing on with NORDVIS; 2009′s “I Denna Skog”, 2010′s “Hymner till Undergången” and the 2012 release “Skelepht” with all three having garnered critical acclaim for their atmospheric, sombre black metal that pays homage to the nature and grim folklore of their Scandinavian roots. With the band and NORDVIS sharing close geographical ties, this deal is a natural step forward for both parties.

Besides procuring the rights for two upcoming albums, the first of which is planned to be recorded in the summer of 2014, the deal also means that their 2010 album “Hymner till Undergången” will be re-released by NORDVIS in the coming months. Stay tuned for more news regarding this in the near future!

DRÅPSNATT has made the following statement:

“Some time has passed since we really felt that we had anything to share with all of you. The plans to record a fourth album became postponed due to us finding ourselves in some strange state of not knowing if we had a label or not. As you know, we are no longer bound to Frostscald Records and even though we – needless to say – were annoyed with the situation, there is no bad blood or hard feelings between us, atleast not for our part.

So, what’s the news, you might ask?! Well, brace yourselves. We are proud to say that we are from here on signed by Nordvis Produktion. We have known about these guys for some time, partly because they also reside in the woodlands of our hometown Skelepht, but also because they have made quite a reputation for themselves by having high quality (rather than high quantity) bands.

We are thus proud and honored to join the same ranks as STILLA, LUSTRE, SKOGEN, LÖNNDOM, GRIFT, BERGRAVEN and LIK.”

We are very proud to present the single “Neath Rock and Stone” by Swedish LUSTRE – taken from the upcoming fifth studio album “Blossom” set for release later this year. This release will mark a new era for LUSTRE and looking by far to be the most prominent album in the history of this successful one-man musical adventure. Always walking his own path, multi-instrumentalist Nachtzeit has developed his sound even further to truly put the listener into a state of enchantment.

DRÅPSNATT - Hymner till Undergången

The downfall of man can be a beautiful thing – if listening to “Hymner till Undergången”by DRÅPSNATT is any indication. This re-issue of the Swedes sophomore release ventures into soundscapes that were once explored by acts such as ARCTURUS and DIMMU BORGIR in their early years. Desolate and melancholic yet very atmospheric with an archaic vibe, “Hymner till Undergången” is an album not to be missed!

We recently announced that the signing of DRÅPSNATT also meant we would re-issue their 2010 album “Hymner till Undergången” (Hymns to the Downfall of Man), and today we are pleased to announce the date for this release which will be May 19th for the CD and TS.

Originally released by Frostcald Records in 2010, the new 6-panel digipak release, featuring lyrics and custom art, will include a previously unreleased track that serves as an indication of things to come. Also, for the first time ever, DRÅPSNATT will be available on vinyl! Limited to 250 copies, it is scheduled for a mid-June release.

On May 19th, coinciding with the re-issue of DRÅPSNATT’s “Hymner till Undergången”, we’ll also release this final chapter in our analog trilogy of 90′s SUMMONING releases. On top of this we’ll also have a restock of last years “Minas Morgul” and “Dol Guldur” cassettes ready.

Three songs originally culled from the release of Dol Guldur along with a bonus track recorded specifically for this release may not sound like much, but rest assured SUMMONING’s EP “Nightshade Forests” from 1997 contains just as much quality as the aforementioned “Dol Guldur”. And while the similarities are there, it still stands strong in and by itself with SUMMONING being one of the creative pinnacles in all that is metal. This EP is no different in its embodiment of the concept, even when parts may not sound ‘metal’ at all.

An integral part of our own musical experience growing up, we hope the re-issue of these 4 tracks on cassette will bring forth as much emotion as they once did in us! With this release we complete the trilogy of nostalgic 90′s SUMMONING re-issues. Simply mesmerizing…

“Nightshade Forests” will be limited to 300 copies, with the restocks of “Minas Morgul” and “Dol Guldur” limited to 150 copies each.
