i remember a friend saying something about this not too long ago; he said it was because they mistreated smaller bands, cancelling upstairs shows without notice and moving the bands downstairs, etc., and were only interested in the bottom line. But I mean if that's the case, it doesn't really make sense.

I heard they also made a habit of giving all the mics to Spiritualized whenever they wanted to play, leaving the band in the basement nearly micless.

Yeah i heard they shipped all the mics to Spiritualized when they played some phony balogna club in Wichitaw
