After the hardware upgrade but not the brief software upgrade had been done, it was so-so. Now with the software update in place as well it works just fine.

Should have gone with the Opterons for future growth, but anyway, UM is running great now. Except for the bug in the clock a few days ago, there's nothing wrong that I've seen. Everything loads up quick, hardly any waiting at all. Not even during the high-traffic times you mentioned.

Well, except for the 'Gateway Timeout' error that prevents me from accessing the site for 2 hours at least once a day, it works pretty fine

No idea what the problem there is, as I never have problems connecting except when the server is in high load (which it isn't anymore anyway... knock on wood)

I don't know either. I also asked a couple of people, and they do get the error around the same time I get it, as well. *shrugs*
