NS10 Mod

Have you owned ns10 in the past? This mod of removing the 1.5khz peak, do you think everyone who owns ns10 has done this? If you did opt to do that or have it done, then your ns10's would not sound like ns10's anymore, therefore making it moot to own them.

I bought a pair for $200 about 3 years ago, sold em for $750 a little bit later. I'll say they did not work for me, and I wanted to eliminate them quickly. I would never badmouth them because those things have managed to attain the status a deity...

Grab latest EQ mag, there is a really cool article about monitors and mastering.... NS10 are mentioned a bunch, hehehe, as are Auratones or as the chick called them: HorrorTones. =)

I'm saving for Dynaudio BM5A and I shall be doneth at that point.

I wouldn't mind hearing teh NS10's with that mod. I have to use them at the studio i'm at now (school) and i can't stand their voicing. I seriously dont know how people manage to do a good mix on them, let alone an AWSOME mix !

No I haven't, that's why I asked. I figured as much. I didn't think a lot of people did it, I just thought some people might have an opinion. So thanks for answering my question.

I'm kind of nervous about getting them actually, if they sound so crappy. It seems like maybe I should get KRKs or something first... so I don't kill myself while listening to the crap I've recorded.

That's because you're still in school.....

I've never seen anybody do this mod, or use it. If you wanna change the sound of NS-10's you should just get something else.
