Nu Metal / Industrial Metal Mix/Master

Vocals sound really good, really good singer too. Whispers sound a bit strange though too my ears on what will it take (nitpicking here). Feels like they are not buried into the mix enough, don't know how to describe it, not the level it just sounds very big in contrast to the singing. Entire mix is very quality. Bass tone is very sick as well. Great blend and character. Way to go on this one.

Cheers,
George.

Wow! High quality production. Like the guitar sounds. Everything sits well in the mix. Very impressed. :kickass:
What did they use for the guitars? Do you wanna talk a little about the production, what you did, what you used, etc.?

Thanks for the comments!

Here's the rundown on what was used...
  • SM57 on vocals, into Manley Elop tube compressor.
  • 6505+ with Mesa OS 4x12 cab on guitars, using a Keeley-modded TS808 and a Boss NS-2. SM57 into FiveFish DIY preamp. We used my ENGL e530 with Recabinet during DI tracking, but it wasn't the guitarist's rig, and he wanted "his" sound ultimately. Sounded great either way, just different flavors ultimately.
  • Drums are real, with Slate blended in. Recorded in a garden shed...
  • Bass is some weird off-brand early 90s Korean J/P bass hybrid going straight into a Sans Amp Bass Driver DI pedal. Was very pleased with the sound right off the bat.
I may be producing their album later this year as well, so I'll keep you guys posted.
