Being a Canuck, i have great appreciation for the NWOBHM. truly the greatest and most powerful movement in Music history. Keep on supporting all the bands that ar still plowing away in the name of all things metal. if i was on your side of the big pond, id surely do exactly that

Keep the Faith

Thats cool earthseansky...whats a Canuck btw??

Its a shame that the real metal is so under appreciated over here in its home country, barely any media exposure at all, and what rock stations there are (like kerrang) just follow whatever is trendy most of the time...

A Canuck is slang for a Canadian,

kinda like Aussie or Yank

Ive read Classic Rock, it kind of waves the old school metal flag. it wasnt a bad read actually, otherwise Kerrang and a couple of others were total crap IMO

Boys,Heavy Metal is alive in Upstate NY(especially old school)We have at least 4 local stations blasting ACDC,Priest,Led Zep,Van Halen,Maiden,Aerosmith,Queen,Deep Purple,Thin Lizzy,Travers and the occasional Saxon tune all day long.Young people are being influenced by these bands as I was thirty years ago.Tonight I am off to see Riot in Poughkeepsie NY,first time since opening for Saxon in early eighties.Steve

Ah right, thanks! and yeah the kerrang radio and tv channel are just as bad as the rag itself!

Thats cool spaster

Well the music situation here in Britain is pretty poor in my opinion, the only good bands are the old ones from the NWOBHM, or they just haven't made it big yet. There's a load of damn boy bands around GRRR SCUM!!!!!

the brit awards are always good for a laugh. the classic bands make englands music memorable

bryan adams and rush? man, we dont even listen to that stuff. well rush maybe.
but ya, our bears will eat ya, well maybe not you. >:P
oh ya,and we live in igloos and eat raw seal all day. love messing with the ignorant.

spaster, how was that riot show?

The Riot show was excellant, however the crowd was small(about 100)surprising since it is only about 60 miles from the bands home.Maybe because of the bad weather. They played 2 solid hours, highlights were Swords And Tequila,Hard Lovin Man,Outlaw,Alter Of The King, and Deep Purples Burn.Riot is the real deal, just like Saxon, but they never made it nearly as big.I recommend seeing them when they go to Europe next month.Steve
