This deeply saddens me, I've been in awe of his guitaring and a hudge fan since the early Pantera days, killing the gunnman is of no consellation to me.

Following the news of the shocking shooting death of DAMAGEPLAN's Dimebag Darrell (ex-PANTERA), mere seconds after taking the stage last night (December 8th) in Columbus, Ohio, messages of condolence have begun to pour in.
BYZANTINE - I had a friend call me last night from Ohio to tell me that one of our idols had been shot to death. Dimebag Darrell, who most likely all of us looked up to and wanted to drink with, was dead. He and 4 others had been shot and killed while Damageplan were playing a concert in very nearby Columbus, OH. This guy walked straight on stage, yelled at Dime, and then shot him point blank in the head. All the while his fans had to watch in horror. Let's all take today to put on some Pantera or Damageplan and remember the coolest, most down to earth, closest thing to

I want to mourn for three very special people:
Nathan Bray, 23
Erin Halk, 29
and the third still unidentified victim.
Three metalheads younger than me, three people that will not come home to family and friends anymore, three real innocent human beings whose life was cut down by a psycho-idiot with a gun. Three persons which only "crime" was to look for fun in the wrong place and the wrong time...only is wasn't supposed to be a wrong place or a wrong time. And it could happened to me, you or anyone on this forum.
When we took a wrong turn, when we finished to be fans and become murderers? What happened with the spirit of concerts like Woodstock? Why we started throwing objects at the band, insulting, becoming angrier and violent towards what is supposed to be our fun, our relaxation, our joy? Why the anger we see in the forums now translate into bloody actions?
I also mourn for metal today, I elevate my anger against gun bearing advocacy and I cry for mankind.
