For those who are science-minded, here is the best pic (yet) that I've taken of Jupiter. You can see the Great Red Spot (looks pink) in the upper right...it's a storm that has been on Jupiter for 175+ years, and is 3x the size of Earth. The details:

Danforth, Michigan.
August 19, 2008.
Seeing: crappy.
Scope: Meade LX 90
Camera: Meade LPI
Processed in Registax.

Hope you all enjoy!! Blatz for you all.

Not sure how to get the pic embedded in the blog??

what is your scope? Cool pic by the way. Recently purchased a scope earlier this year. Have seen saturn (fucking awesome) and mars. Am hoping to get it into a lot more, but the summer here has been truly awful.

How did you get that shot?

Davross666,

As noted in my post I have a Meade LX90 LNT (an 8" Scmidt-Cassegrain); focal length of 2000mm (f/10). The pic was taken with the LPI (lunar & planetary imaging) camera that came with the scope; its focal length is approximately 6mm yielding a "power" of 333x.

I took the picture using the Meade Envisage software that came with the camera. It is approximately a stack of 200 images originally captured in .bmp. I set the quality for 50% and a count of 20.

I hope that is enough info for you.....I know to most of you this will all be gibberish.

So be it, I get one closer to my 666th post!!!:puke:

PS....Again, if someone can embed the pic please feel free to do so.

There you go...

Nice one.

Awesome pic, I'm a total science nerd! Good work my friend:headbang:

I appreciate it. And as this is my 666th post, I want to say: "EVIL to you ALL!" After 6 (nearly 7 years) it sure has been a run.....from post-V8 to Dan Nelson, it has been silly.

Keep watching the skies, and pray for the flaming BALL of DEATH!!!:puke::puke:
