Hey death metal fans, I've just seen Bolt Thrower's European tour here in Prague, a brutal going-away present to myself. It's a package tour:
Necrophagist
Nightrage
Malevolent Creation
Bolt Thrower

Saw it at Prague's Abaton club. Cool place! Napalm Death should have played there!

Necrophagist were kick ass, technical brutal death metal, seriously skilled musicians. German dudes, cool guys also, met them at the merch counter. Check them out.

Nightrage, Swedes, I think. Not bad, more hard-core/metal. Singer was cool, but Phil Anselmo ca. Vulgar wanna-be. I guess it's so long ago now that it's just part of the metal vocalist image now. Bald head, goatee, tats, bad-ass grimacing. All he did was scream his ass off.

Malevolent Creation--old school FL death metal, but I had never heard them before. I guess this lineup is different from just 2 years ago. They kicked ass. EDIT: I guess this lineup is 4 of the original members.

BOLT THROWER--I hadn't heard them before, but knew about them back in the day because of their "Realm of Chaos" record (former role-playing dork alert!). Old school death metal again, I really liked them. A lot of mid-tempo head-banging grooves, with some classic thrash, I love that shit. Vocalist's style reminded me of Barney from Napalm. For those of you in Europe, if you're into death metal, CHECK OUT THIS SHOW!

English test: those of you non-native English speakers, do you know what a "bolt thrower" is?

THOSE STILL LOYAL 2006

Oh, and Czech metalaci, er, metalheads, are fucking tall, Goddammit!

You should have called me after the show. Cool you liked it. I saw Malevolent Creation in Prague like 4, 5 years ago and they kicked some fucking ass.
So, did you have to have someone else carry you on their shoulders or what?

Bolt Thrower are one of those untouchable, favourite bands of mine. Personally, I think the new record is the best since "...For Victory". I just hope they tour Britain this time, they have a abit of avoiding playing in their home country. I'd quite fancy watching Necrophagist too, but I could prop up the bar during the other two bands.

Hey Carc, I see a bunch of England dates on the tour page, check out the link.

And I think you'll like Malevolent Creation.

It ended late and we were dead beat! Whew! For much of it I stood on part of a barrier in front of the sound board, but got a good look at stage left. BT's bassist is still hot after all these years.

Are you free Saturday? :kickass:

Drokk, check out "Descent Into Chaos" by Nightrage. That cd is badass and Tomas Lindberg(ex-At The Gates) sings on that album. They have a new guy singing for them now and I am not sure how well he translates the album in a live setting but the cd rules! Nightrage is absolutely underrated and worth checking out. Don't dismiss them yet

Hot is not the word I would associate with her last promo pics :erk:
She's definitely not young any more but I thought she looked good. Much better than the rest of them, that's for sure!

I know I'm going to regret asking.

What's with the tits ?

Oi vay.
An inside joke from the "Who gets the last word" thread. Anytime somebody starts a post with "O/T", the first person to reply with the words "old tits" gets a point, 2 points if they can use it in the context of the thread topic. Of course, nobody's actually keeping track of the points (to my knowledge, anyway  ), but at least it's somewhat amusing to see some of the reactions of bewilderment from those that aren't in on the "contest". Now you know. You were right to regret asking. :p

Not heard the album, but I get the distinct impression that Tomas Lindberg is a fucking asshole these days. He's in more bands than electric guitars. He did a similar thing with The Crown, until they discovered that he's a prick. Crowned Unholy was better than Crowned in Terror anyway:hotjump:
