The only album I have ever owned from them is Whats the Story (Morning Glory) and I recently whacked it back in the cd player. Its a fuckin good pop album.

Don't look back in anger, wonderwall and champaigne supernova are all classics.

Has anyone heard their new one Dont believe the Truth? I have heard reviews saying that it is pretty great and their best sing Whats the Story.
I might pick it up as I have been in the mood for some good pop lately.

What's the Story would be in my top 20 albums ever. I love it to death - not a bad song on there.

I love all the not as well known songs on there too, like Cast No Shadow (what an awesome song!).

Everything else I've heard from them that isn't on that album though - it just sounded so bland! So I can't help you out on other stuff.

But I can relate to you on the Morning Glory thing!

Interestingly enough, Noel Gallagher can't stand WTS. He thinks its absolute 'shite'. He says there are some solid tracks on there like Wonderwall, but he can't listen to it at all.

I have no idea how he can be of that opinion!

He is the main songwriter yeah?
That is weird.
I think Dont look Back in Anger is one of the best pop songs written since 1990.

Is he a fuckin tosspot too or is that just Liam?

Maybe he's just sick of it cause he would have played the songs to death on tour. Like I'm sure James Hetfield never listens to the Black album.

Yeah, that is like Jon Schaffer, saying Burnt Offerings is his least favourite of the bands albums, when it is a fan favourite and has awesome material on it. Oh well.

I think it is just Liam that is the tosser.

Has anyone seen the Tripod skit where they sing those three songs at the same time, to point out that they are pretty much all to the same tune? Funny stuff. Still a great album though.

I just went into Sanity and they had the new album for $14 so I took a gamble. Will see how it goes

Yeah, that's pretty funny and pretty correct. I quite like that album even though the production is horrible. If I was the drummer or bass player in that band, I'd be spewing.

Definitely Maybe (1994) is the best Oasis album ever. Anyone who doesn't like "Live Forever" has no soul.

The other thing one needs to remember about Mrs. Gallagher's boys and their mates is that, nine times out of ten, the songs they put out on B-sides are better than what ends up on their albums.

I've not yet listened to Heathen Chemistry or Don't Believe The Truth, but I expect I'll get around to it.

I'm no Oasis fan, but I remember listening to some live stuff of theirs on the radio in England once, because it was the only music that was listenable. English FM radio is/was pretty bad!

I'm sure it would be a strong rock album - but I doubt it would have anything in the sheer majesty of Wonderwall or Champagne Supernova.

That's the sad thing about these sort of bands - they release such brilliant and timeless songs that everything will be compared to them, and therefore fall short.

There will never be another Led Zeppelin - who kept releasing that sort of song (at least 1 per album!).

The thing that amazes me about Oasis is that in my eyes, they were the last 'big rock & roll band' to exist. Since then we've only had fads. Sure, Oasis was a fad in a way, but it got so huge that it turned into Beatlemania. Before them were Guns N Roses in terms of bigness... who I still believe got bigger than any band ever.

But I can't see that happening to any band ever again, which really saddens me. I like joining in big hype.
