Odyssey full lenght on vinyl?

Despite my horrid swano fanboy-ism, a vinyl is probably a bit too expensive right now. I'd pay up to about 25, but that's being pretty optimistic I think.

What? Vinyl is the coolest thing ever. And if its done properly, it sounds 100times better than a CD.

And they look fantastic too, I was just browsing some Mastodon vinyls:

Vinyls with pictures sound bad unless the technique of making vinyls has gotten better. My friend had a new In Flames vinyl with a picture and there was quite a lot rasping sound.

But vinyls sound better than cds. Same friend had "normal" vinyls and they sounded great :). Too bad they are expensive, good players are expensive and you have to take a good care of vinyls if you want them to last (comparing to cds)...

Well, all picture disks sound not so good because of obvious reasons (the vinyl is painted over - paint is in the grooves). Although I cant imagine any new In Flames record sounding good on vinyl, because their latest records are brickwalled as hell (unless they make a different master for the vinyl).

Anyway, I`d imagine there are couple of hundred fans in Finland alone to buy Dan Swano vinyl :) I`ve been trying to get Purgatory Afterglow on vinyl for a year and a half, but still havent had any luck. Dan Swano vinyl is hard to come buy because it is all sold out.

It's a matter of preference in sound, but you certainly can't latch onto a technical argument as to why vinyl is better quality than cd.

Give this a read:

Heads up: I got promising reply via e-mail from vicrecords today. Hopefully everything goes okay and we will see a vinyl release :)
