Ze Dan,

Thats great. Congrats. I got engaged last Nov, and just this weekend, we sent out all of our invitations to the wedding in May. Still can't agree on a song for the first dance though. She wants Lets Stay Together by Al Green. I dont know, its a good song and will probably be in the wedding bands setlist, but I just dont like it enough for our first dance (I also definitely want Total Eclipse of the Heart, exactly like the one in Old School:D_ ). Any advice??? I know Mare suggested some great songs, but I am being really anal about this, wanting it to be really special. And no, NO PROG, so no Beautiful, etc. She at least tolerates Enchant, but just about everyone else in prog, she just doesnt understand why I like them. So any advice would be welcome, but I guess I just gotta be a lot less picky.

I am going to be happy to get this wedding plannning over with b/c it is a big frickin deal. Jeez, I think Kerry could become a wedding coordinator as her second job after this ordeal. If it was up to me, I would be happy getting married in the Drive-thru Elvis Wedding Chapel in Vegas. At least it would be a SHITLOAD CHEAPER!! But hey its her special day. And better yet, her parents are picking up most of the tab! I know, I am jerk. It will be great. Shes a wonderful girl.

My buddies and I did get to plan my Vegas Bachelor Weekend in April. :D Three days of debauchery and bliss. She asked me if I was going to be a good boy, and I teased her about my weekend being like the Las Vegas commercial.... What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. Needless to say that was not the most popular choice of comebacks. But she knows, I will be a good boy and always on my best behavior. ;)

I think I gotta case of the Muundays (Office Space ref)

Mr Knight Rider himself. God, what a sexy man. If I was a gay man.....

Isn't he like like the shit in Germany. On the scale of talent, he is only bested by the immortal DJ Bobo.
It is so well cut the video!
You could have a sex change and have hormon(estrogen) intakes?!
If David would grow his hair he would kind of look like James Labrie:tickled:
Dj bobo ahhh... my brother bought a single of his( let the dream come true in a fleamarket) He also bought a Michael Bolton single(the best of love) and the single for what is love?(baby don´t hurt me no more) by Haddaway. Just to tease me:loco:

Americans out there should rent the movie Night at Roxburys coz the song is immortalized in it

Jim have a blast man ! Congratulations for your wedding !

Well I must say this is a very difficult choice to make. I actually asked Sophie about Sting's They Dance Alone but she didn't like it, same for Fields Of Gold. On her side, she chosed Stairway To Heaven or When A Man Loves A Woman but I think these songs are played too many times for these events. Hence I thought about Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb or Marillion's Beautiful or Easter. Or maybe Queen's Who Wants To Live Forever…*this is hell of a song to be played for this special day.
If it was only me I'd swear I would have ask for either Pure, Ultimate Gift or Acquaitance. But like you said most of my guests would simply ask : “what the hell is this song ? I never heard about it“ And THE problem is : you'd better pick a very famous song so people will tell you "Maaaaaaan this is a great song you picked here ! You couldn't have picked a better song !“ You bet …

FIRST OFF, hearty congratulations to Ze Dan and Sophie!!!! May the two of you have a lifetime of happiness together!

SAME TO YOU, Jim and Kerry! All the best!

BUT....!!!!! I nearly FELL OUT OF MY CHAIR in convulsive laughter when I read the rest of your post, especially the part about the drive-thru...you have NO FRICKIN' CLUE how funny that was to me....

...but someone else does! ;)

Cheers, and congrats again to all the Enchanted betrothed!! And best of luck with the first dance song, guys...my personal choice would be for a very personal song -- I couldn't care less if all the guests recognize it or not. It should have special meaning to the two of you! :)

There's a Drive-Thru Chapel that has Elvis?!?!? :Spin:

Man, that would rule. But women always seem to be against all my cool ideas...drive thru wedding, married by a witchdoctor, spending $500 tops on the wedding...some day one of my amazing ideas will be listened to...

Congrats to all getting married! I look forward to doing it as well! :)

Hey Mr. "FPH"....

...."some day"? maybe! one of them anyway! hehehehehe!

$500? That's just for the cake, right???? ;) LOL!!! And no, you can NOT charge an admission fee, LOL!!! :D

Hey Jim, still looking for that first dance tune? How about Maureen McGovern's (and often covered) "Never Say Goodbye" ? It's a beaut! :) Superb lyrics, nice tune, slowish, nicely orchestrated, and short! What's not to like?!

Cheers, all!
