Hello eveyone!

We hope everyone out there had a good holiday season - Now that the it's all over, it's time to tell you about some long awaited news! ... we know you have all been waiting to hear this!

taken from Katagory V's official website:

After several months of silence, Katagory V finally announce the release date for their latest album, “The Rising Anger”

According to Katagory V, Nightmare Records has green-lighted the official release date for the bands long awaited third effort, “The Rising Anger”, which is now slated for worldwide release via the lable on April 25h 2006!

In the last few months, the band has been busy performing live (including the recent Monsters of Metal show with Helstar and Agent Steel) and finalizing details concerning the new album. According to bassist Dustin Mitchell, the band is excited to see the light at the end of the long two year tunnel. “We’ve worked extremely hard the last two years on making sure this album was done properly - from writing it to recording it - and with the help of Nightmare Records, we anticipate this release to be the album metal fans around the world have been wanting to hear since the very beginning, especially fans of Katagory V who have followed us since the early days. We are certain they will not be disappointed!” He continues, “This is the album we’ve wanted to do since day one, and it’s amazing to hear the final results and be 100% happy with how it has turned out. Granted, we feel the process for getting this album complete took far longer than it should have. However, we’re extremely excited to see this album come full circle now and we anticipate this album to be well worth the wait.”

The band currently has no plans to perform live until after the new album is released, but they have hinted at the planning of a possible CD release party to coincide with the release. It hasn’t been made clear at this time whether it will strictly be a listening/release party or if they will perform live. More details to come soon

The release date has been moved back one month to May 23rd

Here's what was said:

A word from the band about the delay: “Due to some unseen circumstances during mastering and the time frame of when the CD would come out of production, both the band and the lable have collectively decided to push the album back one month.”

Bassist Dustin Mitchell elaborates, “By the time the album got out of the plant, those who have pre-ordered the album from the lable directly, as well as any other vendors offering pre-orders, would not get their copies until the week after the April 25th date. Not to mention that most of press and media would be getting there copies for review about the same time as everyone who bought the album in advance, and we felt that it would be best to hold off on releasing it for one month to allow the media to take a stab at it first, as it should be. The press will have there copies a month prior to the release, and those who have and/or will pre-order the album, will get it on the new release date without any delay. By doing this, both the band and the Nightmare Records can rest easier knowing it will be done the right way from the beginning without any chaos involved.”

“The problem in mastering was very minor, and was rectified as quickly as possible. The Good news is, Lance (King, Nightmare Records lable manager) tells us that the mastered version sounds sonic and HUGE, and he is very excited to get this on the shelves for the fans.”

“Its only a month, and these things happen… hopefully we can all hold out that long, as we can’t wait for everyone to finally hear this monster! As of right now, the response and demand for the new album coming out has been far beyond our expectations. We are certain it will be worth the extra month wait.”

Nightmare Records is currently still accepting preorders for “The Rising Anger”.
