Don't you think that the band should update their playlist more often?
I 'm really interested in knowing which kind of music they are listening to, sometimes i discover some interesting stuff too...
I think it's just a little effort to keep the "dead site" alive...

well it is the 'deadsite' and as my friend pointed out on the links page is Jeff Buckley, being on a deadsite, him being dead... bit sad really.

i like to see updated web sites but thats not the easiest thing ever to do. and when theres not really any news to speak of too. playlists probably take time, i mean whose gonna go up to the band members every month and ask what they're playing...

Well, just make do with mine

Dismember - Like An Ever Flowing Stream
Empyrium - Weiland
Katatonia - Discouraged Ones
Lake Of Tears - A Crimson Cosmos
Mortification - Scrolls Of The Megilloth
This Empty Flow - Nowafter

I only have the mp3 files and a 7" with three excerpts, the official release will be on May 6th (the Prophecy site still says 'April 29th', but according to the latest ads there's a slight delay).
Weiland is excellent, to say the least, and it's not always/only based on the beauty of simplicity like its predecessor. I mean it's still the work of a minimalist, but drums, strings and the harsh vocal part in the new version of "Die Schwäne Im Schilf", for example, are very refreshing and a pleasure to hear, while the second chapter "Waldpoesie" is just a fucking masterpiece.

To be honest, I hoped for the "return of the riff" 'cause I love Songs Of Moors & Misty Fields even more than Where At Night..., but it seems that no-one goes back to the roots except for My old-fashioned Dying Bride ;)

I can only recommend Weiland. It's dark romanticism driven to its fullest extent, and since this is going to be the last output of Empyrium, we (the fans) have no choice anyway :erk:

Wow. Just after reading the post above this, I was going to ask this question.

I can't wait to hear 'Weiland'. 'Where at Night the Wood Grouse Plays' is a great album. From what I've heard this should be a lot more varied, with a few more instruments or something like that.

Can't wait, anyway.

the official release will be on May 6th

I thought it was May 2nd.

Anyway, Empyrium are just great. To be honest, I wouldn't want them to go back to the roots. I enjoy "Songs..." too but towards the end of the album the clean vocals start to go on my nerves. And the keyboards on the early recordings are a little cheesy, I think...but just a little:grin:. The acoustic stuff is just brilliant. They are masters at it and it's good that they decided to stick with their style.

They have done a new version of "Die Schwaene im Schilf"?!? God, I hope they didn't mess it up. I wouldn't think this song could possibly get any better. But then, who knows...

By the way, I read that Empyrium will never ever perform live and that they will definately split up after "Weiland".:waah:
