Oh shit! Has anyone mentioned the band Týr before?

I may have missed someone's recommendation, but just incase no one has heard of them I will do another.

Týr (from the Faroe Islands)

Okay- to the point. This is some kickass "viking metal" that actually has an original sound. I got really sick with most viking metal bands just because it all started to sound the same. This band certainly has something new to offer. Imagine older In Flames mixed with Enslaved and maybe some Borknagar (with all clean vocals). Some similarities to Solstafir perhaps. It even has doomy Sabbath moments! Great bass tone too. Fantastic atmosphere all around. Listen to "Regin Smirur" and "Hail to the Hammer".
