I was more impressed by his technique than what he was doing, he has a great feel for it and looks pretty damn relaxed considering some of the stuff he is doing.

I agree with the first sentence

The man is obviously talented and has a very unique feel ... but his style as well as his bands' lacks a bit of soul and real in your face kick.

I like my drummers sweating and out of control not so much in control.

Chris Penny is one of the best drummers for me. He uses a lot of polyrythmic stuff in his music, mixing jazz with metal and making it sound chaotic and "broken" and yet great to listen to. He definitely has gold brains.
