G'day
Stumbled across this forum while searching for some drum tracks I could play along with while practicing guitar and figured, wtf, register for another forum (although this one looks fairly active).
Bit o background on myself, been listening to music constantly since I think I was 10 and my cousin handed me my first cassette tape (Queen - The Game.... go ahead, laugh ) and drifted all over the place (rap, mainstream rock, dance, etc) since that point trying to find the music that best suited me, several years later I found the likes of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth and I knew I was hooked for life.
I continued listening well into my 20's until I got side tracked into the electronic music era and found drum and bass. The angst, the anger and the speed was there just like metal and it was something new. I'd never considered learning music/picking up an instrument to that point, but I invested in a pair of turntables and a mixer, learned basic music composing, counting beats, etc and spun drum and bass.
I recently picked up the guitar because I felt it was something I needed to try and returned to my metal days purchasing all my old albums in digital format and been playing guitar for about 9 months now.
Computer geek by trade, metal head for life, I currently spend my days at work listening to everything under the sun (Jazz, Metal, Rap, Electronic, etc) and evenings trying to get better with a guitar just to have some fun.
cheers, look forward to participating in your community.
